As of composing this post, I’m about two thirds of the way through the next episode of Crawl (EP11). Im really, REALLY enjoying writing this series. It’s not what I initially set out to write. I intended to make a LITRPG series, its more fantasy series than game/mechanics orientated as is the LITRPG style. I’ve addressed this before and I’m slowly sneaking in more gaming type bits, a few D&D references as well. But I have noticed something else, something I hadn’t intended, but I’m enjoying writing it so much that Im going with it. Crawl is also becoming a slice of life adventuring series. The relationships that are developing are taking the lead and the plot (yes there is actually a plot, I sketched it out at the beginning, its evolved but still there) has kind of settled into the background for the moment.
I wanted to write a quick note and assure you, the reader, I have to believe you exist and I’m not just writing for myself, that It will get back to the dungeon crawl with the gaming touches. But it is definitely going to carry on with that slice of life angle as well. Im hoping to find a healthy balance of the three concepts as we go.
Other big news, I’ve decided that once I reach episode fifteen, or twenty depending on how the plot points land, I’m going to compile them into a novella, and will self publish on Amazon or similar. Vol 1 will have some commissioned art within it and will be available in digital and paperback. Although I do still need to research these aspects, I’m excited, and hoping that it will be a way to find more readers.
Progress is being made on my big writing project, The divine tears saga book 1 “A fire in the night”, so dont worry if you are waiting for that, its slow going but its is going.
Any way, thats all for now, I hope you are enjoying reading Crawl, as much as I am enjoying writing it.
All the best
JJ
