Over the past year I have been writing my first novel, Its been a highly enjoyable experience, teaching myself new habits, writing everyday being the biggest. Now I’m in to the second draft of that novel, and I’m finding the editing slow going, but, I’m still very much enjoying it. I have fleshed out the story for a six book series based around a fun group of characters, two of which take the lead roles. The world they live in has grown immeasurably whilst I have been writing, new ideas, tweaks to this and that, aspects that seem to just come alive as I write them. It is a fantastic feeling and, I am hoping that when I start sharing this world with you, the readers, you will enjoy it as much as I do. The next stage is of course to get published, now, during the last year I was invited to write a short story for a compilation that is being published later in 2021, very exciting, and news of that will also be put on this site. Its a step in the right direction. Once I have finished the second draft and it‘s gone through a grammar check (Grammar is my biggest weakness) I will be getting it test read and preparing to move on to the next drafts, but, during the test reading phase I plan to write some shorts, for this website, and some extras for a mailing list (got to get those subscribers somehow). I would love for my novel to be traditionally published but should that not happen for whatever reason I can always self publish, and again it helps to get people interested.
So, with all that in mind, I decided to bite the bullet and get a website, yay, of course that means learning how to put up a website, and then I need to generate some content. So hopefully it will not be too long before I’m throwing up some shorts on here for you to peruse and, once I figure out how to do it, I will be adding a subscribers list on here and sending extra bits and bobs in that direction.
Hopefully I haven’t waffled too much for my first blog, and you can overlook any grammar issues.
thanks for reading.
